“As we celebrate 50 years of NorthPark Center, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful community that surrounds us in Dallas. We are proud to be part of a city that is so generous and community oriented.

“Giving back has been a part of the NorthPark culture since we opened our doors in 1965. To celebrate this milestone, we are launching NorthPark50: Fifty Years of Giving. The initiative aims to honor some of the amazing charities in our community.

“One of the most exciting philanthropic events that takes place in the Metroplex is North Texas Giving Day. It is the one day each year when donations of $25 or more are amplified by bonus funds and prizes. Year after year, we have watched this one-day giving spectacular grow into the largest giving days in the nation. It exemplifies the philanthropic spirit of our city and celebrates the wonderful work our local nonprofits are doing to build a community that cares for people, art, art, culture and more.

“That is why we are so pleased that NorthPark will be the official host of the Dallas County North Texas Giving Day Donation Station on September 17, 2015, with thanks to Communities Foundation of Texas which presents North Texas Giving Day and has arranged a line-up of free nonprofit performances and KidsGive activities.

“The activities will take place at NorthPark in NorthCourt, on Level One, between Nordstrom and Macy’s from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 17, 2015.

“The showcase performances will include performances by Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico, Dallas Black Dance Theater, Dallas Children’s Theater, Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts Dance Company, Junior Players, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Shakespeare Dallas, The Singing Girls of Texas and Texas Boys Choir from Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, and see animals from Dallas Zoo and SPCA of Texas.

“Register now for the 2nd Annual DFWChild KidsGive that will provide kids a chance to donate their loose change and help with nearly a dozen hands-on, philanthropic kid activities like making superhero capes for Union’s Capes 4 Kids and stuffing goodie bags with toiletries for Attitudes and Attire.

“We hope you will join us 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on North Texas Giving Day to celebrate our community’s wonderful nonprofits and rally for another record-breaking giving day!”
