If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. That old proverb has probably been reeling around the organizers of the Red Tie Gala. Despite two previous attempts at having the Cancer Support Community North Texas fundraiser put on hold due to COVID, it appears the third “try” is going to happen.
Scheduled for Friday, April 29, at The Empire Room, the new date actually was ideal since it’s midway through the non-profit’s 20th anniversary year and will take place on International Dance Day.
According to CSCNT CEO Mirchelle Louis, “Third time’s the charm. The pandemic has shown us more than ever that cancer support – virtual and in person – is the critical, missing link in cancer care. We are thrilled to celebrate our 20th anniversary and what CSCNT provides thousands of people every year at this memorable, all-in-red event and two-step into the next 20 years with survivors and thrivers!”

To set the pace for the evening of tapas, open and silent auctions and a raffle, the theme’s “Two-Stepping into the Next 20 Years” will be put into action with The Manhattan Band performing and professional dancers and dance instructors demonstrating simple, fun dance moves for guests.
In addition to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation being honored for its extensive support of CSCNT, honorary event ambassadors will include the late Mary Kay Ash’s granddaughter Jessica Bair Williams, Mary Kay Inc. Chief Innovation Officer of Product and Science Lucy Gildea and Texas Health Resources CEO Emeritus Doug Hawthorne.
Early bird tickets will be going for $180 per person until Thursday, March 31. After that the price goes up to $200 pp.
Funds raised through the event will provide “emotional and social support to people living with cancer and their families across North Texas.”
