After years of dreaming, collaborating and fundraising, the six-acre Kaleidoscope Park is just a month away from becoming a treasured reality in Frisco.
Officially opening with a weekend of activities on Saturday, October 5, the Kaleidoscope Park Foundation is hosting a sneak preview on the night before (aka Friday, October 4). This Sunset Soirée: A Walk in the Park will allow ticketed guests to “stroll the park and hear from those who were fundamental in its creation like Kaleidoscope Park Foundation Board President Florence Shapiro, Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney, Communities Foundation of Texas CEO Wayne White, Hall Group Founder/CEO Craig Hall, artist Janet Echelman and Kaleidoscope Park Executive Director Shawn Jackson.
Another highlight for guests will be the “first official chance to view Echelman’s magnificent ‘Butterfly Rest stop,’ the largest and most important piece of public art to debut in North Texas in years.”
In addition to enjoying bites donated by Vestal’s Catering, gelato provided by Gelato la Boca, beer provided by Rollerton Beerworks, cocktails by Socorro Tequila and “spectacular sips of Hall Wines donated by Craig and Kathryn Hall, guests will enjoy a drone show presented by North Texas’ Sky Elements.
Tickets for Sunset Soirée are going for $150 and can be purchased here.
If you can’t afford the ticket, not to worry. Over the weekend, you can bring your friends and family to experience the Grand Opening that will include the ribbon cutting. The Frisco Rotary Farmers Market, Health and Wellness Programs, a petting zoo and all types of performances like entertainment by Emerald City All-Stars Performance sponsored by H-E-B and yoga and meditation classes.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 6.
