The Sweetheart Ball is literally a be-still-my-heart occasion, with North Texas’ most incredible movers and shakers present including such names as Dedman, Harrison, Jones, Perot and Simmons. For some it’s also a multi-generational affair, where parents and their offspring show their philanthropic genes.

So, the 2025 fundraiser for UT Southwestern cardiology research and development surged at Brook Hollow on Saturday, April 12.
This year’s Chair Ola Fojtasek wanted the event to be more of an easy-going family reunion, as if the black-tie dinner had moored in front of the Yacht Club on the chic legendary Massachusetts island of Nantucket (aka the Fojtasek family’s get-away digs).

To do that, Brook Hollow’s every inch was filled with hydrangea blooms, ship-ahoy tip-top tuxedo types and gals in designer gowns humming “Beyond the Sea” waiting for their sailors to return. But there was nary a jig, a whaling crew nor an anchor in sight.
Rather, it was an easy feel of elegance that included breathtaking toppest-drawer spirits in The Mermaid Bar and The Burgee Bar and something that many North Texans don’t usually experience — a northeastern coastal elegant ease of living.
