Thanks to an editing of closets in February, Comerica Bank’s Prom Dress Drive was a resounding success. Because of the generosity of area fashionistas, hundreds of Dallas CASA and Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas teens will look really rather smashing at their school proms.
And just like a check presentation, the final count has been revealed. In its eighth year of the program, 625 dresses were collected at the six Dallas-area Comerica banking centers. This number brings the total dresses collected over the past eight years to 6,210.

This year’s crop of gowns and accessories were on display at two-weekend, pop-up prom boutiques at Dallas CASA earlier this month and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas’ Prom Dress Extravaganza on Thursday, March 9, with the help of the Comerica Bank North Texas Women’s Forums and Green Team.
Since the number of dress outweighed the two organizations’ teens, gowns will be distributed to other non-profits and teens, “who otherwise may not be able to afford formal attire and experience the high school tradition of prom.”
